Two men were arrested after drug investigation

Both men face numerous charges

Carlos Centeno-Izaguirre, 43, and Gerson Arteaga-Izaguirre, 20, were arrested after an investigation revealed the two allegedly dealt fentanyl and other narcotics that caused the death of a person.

The investigation by the Boulder County Drug Task Force revealed that the two men were dealing drugs in Boulder County and throughout the metro area including within 1,000 feet of a school. 

Both men face numerous charges including multiple counts of unlawful distribution of fentanyl — more than 50 grams, special offender — distribution within 1,000 feet of a school and counterfeit substances prohibited. Centeno-Izaguirre also faces charges of distribution of fentanyl resulting in death — greater than 50 grams.

Officials confiscated 514.25 grams of fentanyl — an estimated 5,000 pills — 8.73 grams of cocaine, 7.19 grams of morphine and 2.89 grams of heroin during the investigation.

“I appreciate all the hard work that the Drug Task Force, other law enforcement partners, and our prosecution team have dedicated to this tragic case. Fentanyl dealers should be held fully accountable for the destruction they inflict, and we are committed to pursuing justice in this case,” said Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty.

Centeno-Izaguirre was given a $1 million cash only bond.
