The Longmont Chamber of Commerce sent out a survey Tuesday to local businesses to weigh in on the minimum wage increases proposed by Boulder County.

The survey takes roughly two minutes to complete and participants can remain anonymous. However, the Chamber is asking that those interested in participating in a “less rushed process for considering a proposed minimum wage increase” provide their contact information.

The survey follows a recent announcement by the Boulder County Commissioners to increase the minimum wage in unincorporated Boulder County by 15%.

The Longmont Chamber wants to understand how the proposed increase would impact Longmont’s businesses.

The deadline for the surveys is Aug. 18 and can be done in English or Spanish.

“This will give us time to collect the information and begin to assess the stated impacts on our local businesses and how best to deploy advocacy support,” Cook said in the survey email. “With your support we will be able to clearly articulate the concerns about the proposed rushed decision to increase the local minimum wage.”
