Holiday by Atria has announced that its Colorado-based senior living community, Longmont Regent, has begun renovating as part of a new $2 million project.

The senior living center operator says the purpose of the renovation project is to provide upgrades that are geared towards transforming the community’s appearance and functionality, with a focus on improving social spaces for the older adults that reside there.

One of the key goals of the renovations is to expand the community’s fitness room in an effort to “meet the needs of seniors working to maintain a more active lifestyle as they age,” according to Holiday by Atria.

Other rooms set to receive extensive renovations include the game lounge, the living room, the atrium, the dining room and the salon, in addition to various other improvements throughout the property such as adding A/V capabilities in all common areas, installing energy-efficient lighting and more.

Outside of the common spaces, the apartments themselves will also be receiving a facelift as part of the capital project, with planned upgrades including new lighting and luxury vinyl tile flooring; kitchenettes with new cabinets, sinks and granite counters; as well as upgraded bathrooms with new vanities, faucets and accessories.

“For us, this will feel like an ‘extreme makeover’ to create new and enhanced ways for our residents to stay active, build new friendships and enjoy what inspires them,” said Bonnie Ochsner, general manager at Holiday Longmont Regent. “We know that living in a vibrant, social community like ours can translate to greater well-being in older adults.”

Along with Longmont Regent, other Holiday by Atria senior communities in the Colorado region are slated to get upgraded. Recently, Holiday Highland Trail in Broomfield completed its renovation project back in the spring of this year.

“Our renovations at Holiday by Atria communities nationwide are designed to meet the demands of America’s aging population, as well as provide working environments to attract and retain talented employees,” said Michael Mejia, chief operating officer for Holiday by Atria. “The renovation of Holiday Longmont Regent is part of our ongoing commitment to put our residents in position to live their best lives, now."
