DENVER - Colorado continues to emerge as a bioscience hub. Genapsys, a life science company, has announced plans to open a second location in Westminster bringing approximately 240 new jobs to Colorado.
Genapsys is focused on unlocking universal access to genomic information by delivering a highly accurate, scalable and affordable genomic sequencing ecosystem that empowers both academic and clinical research applications.
“Colorado is a fast-growing bioscience hub so we are thrilled to have Genapsys join our thriving state and help create good-paying jobs as we move Colorado forward. Our state is attracting businesses, investments and creating jobs because we are the best place in the country to live, work and thrive,” said Governor Jared Polis.
The expanded operations are expected to create approximately 240 new jobs, 15 of which are anticipated to be remote jobs for workers from rural Colorado communities through the Location Neutral Employment Incentive (LONE) worker program. These jobs will primarily be chemists and biologists, engineers and administrative workers with an average annual wage of $111,369.
“The expansion of our Colorado efforts marks an exciting milestone for Genapsys’ rapid growth,” remarked Genapsys CEO and ArcherDx founder Jason Myers. “The Denver market has emerged as a life sciences and biotech hub, offering an excellent opportunity for B2B collaboration. In addition, the local talent from universities, favorable taxes and incentives will allow us to quickly scale consumable manufacturing and increase our R&D efforts.”
Genapsys applied for and received a Job Growth Incentive Tax Credit and a LONE Strategic Fund incentive for the creation of these new jobs. This incentive will be paid out over an eight-year period as the new jobs come online.
