Draft management plan for East Boulder Creek available to public

Public comment period ends Oct. 29, public hearings scheduled through December

Boulder County Parks & Open Space is pleased to announce the release of the draft East Boulder Creek Site Management Plan. The draft plan and final community survey are posted on the East Boulder Creek Management Plan webpage.

The final plan will guide the management of the section of the Boulder Creek Valley at the confluence of Coal Creek. The plan was crafted after receiving extensive public feedback during the first phases of the planning process. The plan embodies the department’s dual mission of conservation values and people priorities.

Public comments can be submitted using the final community survey. The survey will remain open through Sunday, Oct. 29.

Comments can also be made at upcoming public hearings where staff will present the plan.

  • Parks & Open Space Advisory Committee (POSAC)
    Thursday, Oct. 26, 6:30 p.m.
    POSAC will meet to consider the plan and listen to public feedback.
  • Parks & Open Space Advisory Committee
    Thursday, Nov. 16, 6:30 p.m.
    POSAC will meet for a second review of the plan, listen to public feedback, and vote to recommend the plan to the Board of County Commissioners.
  • Board of County Commissioners
    Thursday, Dec. 14, 1 p.m.
    The Board of County Commissioners will meet to review the plan, listen to public feedback, and vote to adopt the plan.

All meetings are offered in a hybrid format where attendees can join virtually through Zoom or in-person at the Boulder County Courthouse, 1325 Pearl St, 3rd Floor, Boulder.
