The City of Longmont is set to celebrate the spooky season and national bat week during its Bats Are Pollinators, Too! event.

The evening will be spent at Rogers Grove (Longmont's very own pollinator garden) on Oct. 17 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Kids are invited to learn about the important role bats play in our ecosystem through short stories that highlight how they are pollinators. Stories will be read around the firepit as everyone enjoys hot chocolate.

The event includes a quick walk around the garden to spot any plants bats may be attracted to.

Following the walk, bat boxes will be stained and personalized to be used by the forestry department in the garden area.

This event is free, but registration is required. Learn more and register here.
