Demonstration in support of Women’s Rights

10-11:30 a.m.

Central Park Bandshell, 1212 Canyon Blvd. Boulder

One year after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, we’re gathering again to protest the undermining of reproductive and healthcare rights for women. On June 24, thousands of women will gather in Washington D.C. and across the country to let the world know we’re STILL fighting. We’re STILL the resistance. And we WON’T go back.

From 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. on Saturday (6/24) members of the community will be joining YWCA Boulder County and representatives from partner organizations like the Women’s Collaborative of Boulder County at the Central Park Bandshell in downtown Boulder (1212 Canyon Blvd.). Instead of a march this year, the event will be a demonstration and rally and will feature an impressive lineup of speakers. The event will give participants the opportunity to be inspired, join together and learn more about how to take action as we continue the fight for access to reproductive health care.

Participants are encouraged to register for the event and help the event organizers plan for crowd size: https://action.ywcaboulder.org/event/national-day-of-action-one-year-without-roe/e489004

Big Balloon Build

July20-24

The event is called the Big Balloon Build and it will be only the 4th of its kind in the United States and will not return to Northern Colorado anytime soon, if ever. We will have 75 balloon artists from around the world come to Greeley, donating their time and paying their own travel expenses. Using 125,000 balloons in 3 ½ days, they will build a one-of-a-kind immersive, balloon art installation in the ballroom of the Aims Welcome Center. Life Stories, a charity that advocates for children who have been abused or neglected in Weld County, will host 5 days of events to raise awareness and funds for their programs. Here's a very short video that shows what the Big Balloon Build looks like: https://youtu.be/zP3EH1JLTsQ. The attached press release contains additional information including how to purchase tickets.
