Genealogy Basics with the Longmont Genealogical Society

Volunteers from the Longmont Genealogical Society offer their time, knowledge, and assistance to the public one Saturday each month. Participants are guided on how to search for their ancestors and use the various resources available both in and out of the library.

Wherever you are in your search, these volunteers can help! Gather any information you have -- name(s), a date of birth or death, a place, etc. and see what you can discover.

Sugar Plum Tea Party |

November 25th & 26th

The Sugar Plum Fairy warmly invites you to Centennial State Ballet's 12th Annual Sugar Plum Tea Party. This year the event will be held at the Longmont Museum in the Swan Atrium and the Stewart Auditorium. Offering an elegant afternoon tea service with sweet and savory treats, audience members will delight in the sights and sounds of the holiday season. The mini-narrated Nutcracker performance will be held in Stewart Auditorium and after the performance guests get a chance to mingle and take photos with the dancers in their costumes.

There are 2 shows on Saturday, November 25th; 1 PM and 4 PM and 2 shows on Sunday, November 26th at 1 PM and 4 PM at the Longmont Museum. The Sugar Plum Tea Party is a sweet treat for all ages! Deep Thoughts Philosophy Reading Group (Virtual) - REGISTER

About the Deep Thoughts Philosophy Reading Group

  • Meets every fourth Monday of each month, from 7-8:30 pm, via Zoom

  • Open to adults and older teens aged 16+.

This group meets monthly to discuss a classic short work of philosophy or an excerpt from a longer work.

Participants read the work prior to our meeting, and together we explore the meaning of the text and the value it offers us. All participants are welcome, including those who are unable to read the entire selection before the meeting.

Sessions are facilitated by Dawn Jacobs and other graduate students of the Philosophy Outreach Program of Colorado at CU Boulder (POPCO). Facilitators will focus on encouraging and guiding a group discussion/learning event rather than on teaching.

Computer Class: Intro to PC Computing

This one-hour class is designed for users with modest or even zero experience using a Windows-based personal computer. The class will cover the basic skills needed to build your confidence and ensure a strong start when learning how to use a PC.

Habitat's Gift of Home Tour

Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley

November 30th-December 2nd. Don't miss this time-honored Longmont tradition with 56+ years of history. 8th Annual Longmont Museum Holiday Show

3 p.m. and 7 p.m. 

$25 general admission, $22 students/seniors, $20 members

Featuring The Mestos-Abbott Latin Jazz Quartet, Brothers of Brass and Mollie O'Brien & Rich Moore. The Longmont Museum's annual holiday tradition, typically held the first Saturday in December. Join us for songs of the season and holiday cheer from some of the finest musicians and performers in the region. Cash bar with signature holiday drink.

Longmont Farmers Market

Light the way for One Less: VCP’s Inaugural Lighting Ceremony

5:30-8 p.m.

Featuring a Santa's workshop for kids, caroling, cookies, hot chocolate, and a visit from Santa himself, we are excited to welcome the entire community to light the way for one less homeless Veteran this year!

We will switch on the village lights for the tiny homes and our community center at 7:25pm and ring in the season of giving on this special Colorado Gives Day!

Each $25 donation for Colorado Gives will also turn on one handheld holiday light at the event showcasing the incredible light our community creates for Veterans in need.

Flagstaff Academy Charter School

Come celebrate the holidays with dazzling light displays on Thursday, December 7, from 6 - 7:30 p.m. at Flagstaff Academy Charter School. Sip a cup of hot cocoa as you browse the many "trunk-or-treat" style light displays in the Flagstaff Academy parking lot and collect some free goodies along the way! Click here for more information.

Tween Club: Guatemalan Textiles Weaving Identity and Place

Special workshop with Museo de las Americas

How do we express ourselves through what we wear? Learn about the colorful world of Guatemala through textiles. Students will learn about the Maya, weaving, and how different people in Guatemala identify where they come from through design in their Huipils. Younger students will then create their own design out of fabric scraps. Older students get to test their motor skills and will learn how to weave.

42nd Annual Christmas Tree Festival

TLC Learning Center

Join us for the 42nd Annual Christmas Tree Festival! We raffle off dozens of themed trees decked out with goodies while enjoying great food, friends, and fun! All proceeds from this beloved Longmont winter tradition benefit the TLC Scholarship Fund, which provides financial assistance to families in our community so that their children can access the therapeutic early learning services they need to thrive.
