People Engaged in Raising Leaders (PERL) Program invites residents to participate in the upcoming Boards and Commissions Training April 2-May 7, 2024. The PERL program works to diversify local boards and commissions by increasing the involvement of diverse and underrepresented populations, including people of color and low-income individuals. Learn more about administrative boards and commissions in government and non-profits and develop the skills to express your political agency and make change in your community. Connect with opportunities for civic involvement and network with other likeminded community members.

  • WHAT: PERL Boards and Commissions Training
  • WHEN: Tuesdays, April 2 – May 7
  • TIME: 6-7:30 p.m.
  • WHERE: Hybrid. Online via Microsoft Teams and Boulder County Nino Gallo Room, Sundquist Building, 3482 N. Broadway, Boulder

The Boards and Commissions trainings will cover topics including boards roles and responsibilities, board applications and interviewing, board culture and survival strategies, board oversight/management, cultural/effective communication, fundraising philanthropy, and Robert’s Rules of Order. Guest speakers will include representatives from boards of government agencies and local organizations and the Office of the Boulder County Commissioners.
