NEWS RELEASE
CITY OF LONGMONT
**************************
The City of Longmont is planning a full 24-hour closure of both lanes of Longs Peak Avenue from S. Sunset Street to the entrance to the Sunset Golf Course starting on Monday, April 29 through Saturday, May 4, weather permitting.

This closure is necessary to allow crews to safely reconstruct Longs Peak Avenue as part of the Price Park Tank Replacement Project. Construction will occur daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. However, the eastbound and westbound lanes will remain closed overnight due to various construction activities.

Detour signs will direct westbound traffic from S. Sunset Street to 9th Avenue. Longs Peak Avenue from Hover Street to the Sunset Golf Course will remain open at all times. Access to the Sunset Golf Course parking lot will be open during construction. Local residential traffic will have access from Hover Street.

The public is encouraged to use 3rd Avenue, 9th Avenue and Hover Street to avoid this section of Longs Peak Avenue until the roadwork is completed. Upper and lower Longs Peak Avenue will be restored to its original configuration after the work is complete.

Current project information and traffic impacts can be found on the project website at bit.ly/price-park-tank-replacement. If you have questions or concerns about the project, please call the Project Hotline at (720) 526-2044 or email [email protected].
