The Sustainable Broomfield organization has named its new executive director, Ronald Reeves, the group announced in a newsletter issued Wednesday.
Reeves penned a letter to the community, which thanked the organization for the opportunity.
“As we continue to push the mission of Sustainable Broomfield, I ask for your continued support, continue to use your voices, and if you haven’t already — volunteer your time with us,” Reeves’ letter read. “We need volunteers not only with community needs and events, but also in areas including planning, implementation, and research.”
Reeves is from Detroit, Michigan, and he lived in a dozen states before moving to Colorado, he explained in his letter. While finishing up his doctorate in Administration, he leads Team Colorado’s USA Games team and a local Special Olympics track and field team.
He is also a board treasurer for Karis Community, an organization that helps people with mental illness, he said in his letter.
“I thank the board of Sustainable Broomfield and know that we will continue to promote environmentally sustainable lifestyles through education and support, community outreach, and by providing resources for residents to advocate for sustainable public policy — our mission,” his letter read.
