UPDATE: As of 9:30 p.m. the city of Longmont announced that BNSF is moving the train over night. There is no word on how long the process might take.

A Burlington Northern Santa Fe train suffered a minor derailment at First and Emery streets on Thursday evening when it lost a wheel.

The train is stuck in its current location until a repair crew can be dispatched to fix the train, a news release from the city of Longmont stated. Crews are expected to arrive after 8 a.m. Friday morning.

No further damage has occurred from this incident.

The train is blocking several intersections including First and Main streets, First and Coffman streets and First and Emery streets. The city suggests travelers in this area find an alternate route. Delays and detours will occur in the area, according to the city.
