The City of Longmont is hosting a workshop titled, 'Understanding Domestic Violence'

About the Workshop:

  • Presented by Ashley Méndez Ruiz, Project Coordinator, Longmont Ending Domestic Violence Initiative (LEVI)

This workshop focuses on providing the community a better understanding about what is domestic violence. Attendees will be able to differentiate between unhealthy and abusive relationships, as well as identify red flags. Throughout the program, the myths surrounding domestic violence will be foundered and the complexity behind domestic violence will be explained along with the factors that influence a victim’s ability to ask and/or receive help.

Resources and ways to support victims and survivors will be included to provide attendees with the necessary tools to make a difference on their community.

NOTE: If you are in need of accommodations (such as sign language) to attend the Understanding Domestic Violence workshop, please contact the Library's Adult Services staff to make arrangements no less than five business days prior to the event.
