Boulder County Public Works’ Road Maintenance Division will begin a roadway resurfacing project on Hygiene Road between US 36 and N. 75th Street at 7 a.m. on Monday, May 22. Work will take place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The project is anticipated to last through July, weather permitting.

All of Hygiene Road will have full pavement removal and reconstruction from the ground up. Pilot cars will be used to safely move travelers around active construction zones during daytime, weekday operations. The roadway surface will be in less-than-ideal condition until paving takes place in July. Alternate routes are advised for all travelers, but cyclists should take special precautions if they choose to ride on this road during construction.

A short section of Hygiene Road near Foothills Reservoir will remain unpaved as a culvert replacement project will begin soon after Road Maintenance has completed the resurfacing work. This project is anticipated to last through the end of the year. More information on the culvert replacement project will be provided before construction begins.

Questions and comments about both the resurfacing project and the culvert replacement can be directed to Andrew Barth, Public Works Communications, at [email protected] or call 303-441-1032. Information about all current Boulder County-related roadway construction can be found at www.BoCo.org/conezones.
