State Patrol is asking for assistance in a serious injury crash

Sept. 7, 2023, at approximately 12:42 a.m., Colorado State Patrol Troopers responded to a hit and run crash on Highway 119 near mile post 49, in the area of Boulder, in Boulder County. A silver sedan struck a bicycle, causing serious injury to the 63-year-old rider and then left the scene.

The initial investigation revealed the bicycle was traveling northbound on Highway 119 on the right shoulder. The silver sedan was northbound on Highway 119. The silver sedan pulled onto the shoulder and struck the bicycle with the right side. The silver sedan then left the scene. The driver of the sedan has not yet been identified.

Investigators need your help identifying the vehicle and driver of this hit and run. The vehicle is believed to be a silver sedan which should have damage to the right side of the vehicle and possible front passenger side damage. The vehicle is possibly missing a portion of the passenger side mirror. If you witnessed the crash, or have any information and have not spoke to investigators, please contact Colorado State Patrol Dispatch at (303) 239-4501. You can reference the case number as 1D233572.
