Angles Ski Board and Fly Fishing shop, located at 463 Main St., will host its first annual Fly Fishing Festival on August 5 from 1-8 p.m. at the Left Hand Beer Garden, located at 1265 Boston Ave.

The festival is designed to bring anglers of all abilities and skills together to foster a sense of camaraderie, said Matt Burditt, spokesperson for the shop.

The event will include fly-fishing vendors, art vendors, fly-tying demonstrations, casting classes and a casting competition. The casting competition is the only thing that requires a fee and all proceeds go to St. Vrain Trout Unlimited, which is dedicated to protecting the St. Vrain River.

“We love what SVTU does for the community, from providing schools with entomology and fishing education to fighting for our environment, specifically via water, locally and nationally.  We have provided thousands in funding for them the past few years and would like to contribute more,” Burditt said.

The event is open to all ages and is dog friendly.

“Through education, conservation efforts, and a shared passion for fly fishing, we strive to create a lasting impact and inspire a collective responsibility towards protecting our environment for generations to come,” Burditt said.
