The Times Collaborative, located at 338 Main Street, is more than a co-working space. It includes a commercial kitchen and hosts several events throughout the year. On the second Friday of each month, it hosts an all-ages happy hour.
The Happy Times & Co event began in January with a collaboration between DJ Drake Dawson, Chef Devin Keopraphy from Rising Tiger and Heather Marvin, founder of The Times Collaborative.
“We wanted to create something consistent and looked around at what is missing in the community. We felt that the fun happy hour (was it) — either people aren’t going out or there isn’t the right offering for them,” Marvin said.
Each month The Times Collaborative opens its doors to families or individuals to stop by and enjoy “great food and drink deals,” while listening to DJ music, Marvin said.
DJ Drake Dawson begins each event with a list of music, however, he quickly changes it to match the crowd catering to families or even specific genre music, Marvin said.
Chef Devin Keopraphy uses local ingredients in making a menu. He recently revamped the menu for the summer which will be featured at the next event.
During the happy hour, board games, including Twister, are available for entertainment in addition to music.
The next event will take place on July 14 from 4:30-7:30 p.m.
“It's a reason to get out to a different spot … you can go somewhere where it’s indoors. You can socialize and get together with friends or co-workers,” Marvin said.
